Geothermal

Geothermal Heating And Cooling Manassas, VA

A geothermal heat pump captures the consistent temperature of the earth and transforms it into home comfort. The process is simple, eco-friendly and efficient. Geothermal technology provides an efficient and sustainable solution for heating and cooling properties. In winter, circulating coolant passes through underground piping, where it extracts heat from the warmer ground.

In summer, the process reverses. Liquid coolant removes heat from a home’s interior and carries it underground, where it dissipates into the cooler environment. Geothermal heating can significantly reduce homeowners’ energy bills, offering potential annual savings that can offset installation costs. You enjoy quiet, even geothermal heating and cooling for your Northern Virginia home without direct fuel consumption, carbon emissions, or undue wear and tear on HVAC equipment.

Parrish Services installs geothermal heating and cooling systems for any home location—urban, suburban, or rural. Choose the installation that suits your property best:

Geothermal technology is an efficient and sustainable solution for heating and cooling properties, providing significant benefits in terms of comfort and environmental impact.

  • Vertical loops: closed-loop tubing inserted and fixed into a series of deep, small-diameter vertical wells; best for urban areas where space is limited
  • Slinky coils: overlapping coils of tubing laid in horizontal trenches; a compact system for achieving more capacity in less space
  • Horizontal ground loops: coiled tubing laid in a series of horizontal trenches; recommended for rural areas with sufficient landscape space

Geothermal systems operate using a series of pipes, known as a loop, which are installed underground or submerged in a nearby water source. These pipes contain a water-based solution that absorbs heat from the ground. This absorbed heat is then carried back to the geothermal heat pump located inside the building. During the colder months, the heat pump transfers this heat into the building, providing efficient warmth. In the warmer months, the process reverses: the system absorbs heat from indoors and transfers it back into the ground, effectively cooling the space. Geothermal heat pumps are integral to these systems, offering a dual-function solution for both heating and cooling. By utilizing geothermal heat, these systems provide a consistent and energy-efficient way to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.

New Builds & Retrofits: Parrish Does It All

What is a geothermal heat pump?

A geothermal heat pump uses the Earth’s stable underground temperature to heat or cool a property. It transfers heat from the ground during winter and removes heat from the home in summer for efficient climate control.

How do geothermal systems reduce energy bills?

Geothermal systems are highly energy-efficient because they leverage the Earth’s natural heat, reducing the need for fossil fuels. This efficiency can significantly lower utility bills over time compared to traditional HVAC systems.

What are the types of geothermal system installations?

Geothermal systems include vertical loops, horizontal ground loops, and slinky coils. Vertical loops are ideal for small spaces, while horizontal loops suit rural areas. Slinky coils are compact and offer high capacity in smaller landscapes.

Can geothermal heating be retrofitted into existing homes?
